Social Participation
Getac firmly believe that the sustainable growth of businesses originates from societal resources and the support of the broader public. Therefore, each year, the Getac's Board of Directors allocates a portion of the company's profits to establish the "Getac Holdings Public Welfare Trust Charity Fund." Getac has consistently upheld education and social care as core values. We maintain long-term partnerships with various non-profit organizations, social welfare foundations, care centers, and centers for intellectual development. We support their operational development and participate in guardianship programs aimed at assisting disadvantaged families, rural education, and child welfare.
Caring for disadvantaged groups
In 2023, we expanded our support to vulnerable groups, providing assistance to disadvantaged families, women, elderly individuals, and the homeless. A total of 2.5 million New Taiwan Dollars were allocated to help more vulnerable communities in society.

Starting from 2023, Getac encourages employees to actively engage in social welfare and environmental sustainability volunteer activities. We take the initiative in planning these activities and designate specific days as "Sustainable Volunteer Day." On this day, employees have the option to either work at the company or participate in volunteer activities organized by us.
To enhance employee participation, we take care of all arrangements, including itinerary planning, transportation, meals, and souvenirs for the volunteers. Moving forward, we will continue organizing a diverse range of ESG activities that are environmentally friendly. For instance, tree planting and supporting local organic farming initiatives are on the agenda. Through Sustainable Volunteer Day, our colleagues can develop ecological conservation awareness and demonstrate their commitment to reducing carbon footprints in their daily lives. This approach is a crucial step towards achieving sustainable business operations and net-zero carbon emissions. Additionally, we actively contribute to local community revitalization efforts, promoting the well-being and harmony of the places where we operate.
In response to World Earth Day, Getac organized its first "Beach Cleanup Volunteer Day" on a make-up work day, March 25th. Employees were called upon to participate in a beach cleanup activity at Fulung Beach. The central theme of the event was "Low Carbon, Zero Trace, Green Living," emphasizing the practice of low-carbon activities. From the planning stage to execution, extra efforts were made to avoid generating environmental pollution, reducing carbon emissions, and minimizing environmental contamination, all in the spirit of creating a more eco-friendly and sustainable environment for our planet.
A total of 151 employees actively participated in this volunteer activity, and the event adopted the "International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Data Card" designed by the Ocean Conservancy (TOC) to classify marine debris. This standardized data card allowed for uniform calculation standards for marine waste collected from various locations worldwide. Throughout the beach cleanup campaign, an impressive 154.4 kilograms of coastal waste were removed, showcasing the fruitful outcome of this effort. For more details, see the Getac 's Beach Cleanup Day event news.
With a broader perspective for future environmental action plans, Getac collaborates with its supply chain to promote a circular economy development model. On the make-up workday of September 23, Getac invited its supply chain partner, Intel Taiwan, to join in the New Taipei Shalun Coastline Tree Planting and Maintenance Project. In response to the environmental impact of global extreme weather, Getac’s Tree Planting Day embodies four key principles: 1) rescuing the increasingly receding coastline, 2) restoring terrestrial ecosystems and maintaining biodiversity, 3) mitigating the impact of climate change, reducing carbon emissions, and purifying the air, and 4) co-creating sustainable impact with supply chain partners. These principles align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to “Climate Action,” “Life on Land,” and “Partnerships for the Goals,” demonstrating Getac’s commitment to green and sustainable practices.
This volunteer activity mobilized over 200 employees who planted 600 native Taiwanese saplings and committed to a three-year maintenance effort, contributing to the restoration of the Shalun coastline forest in New Taipei and working together to create environmental sustainability. Getac Team Building Camp: The Quest for Liao Tian-Ding's Treasure
In response to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to support "Local Revitalization," Getac takes action to address issues caused by urban-rural disparities, such as population outflow, aging, and economic decline in local communities. The concept of "Local Revitalization" focuses on leveraging local characteristics, revitalizing the area, and supporting the economic development of local communities.
On June 17th, on a make-up work day, Getac organized the " Getac Team Building Camp: The Quest for Liao Tian-Ding's Treasure" activity. The event not only provided competitive prizes, meals, and local souvenirs but also integrated the idea of "Local Revitalization" into the team-building camp.
A total of 420 employees participated in the event, engaging in team competitions with local businesses. This not only tested team cohesion among colleagues but also fostered camaraderie and balanced physical and mental well-being. Through interactive games related to the historical significance of Dadaocheng, participants delved into the local culture and stories of the area. Additionally, the event included opportunities to taste local cuisine and enjoy exclusive discounts at local establishments, contributing to the economic vitality of the neighborhood and promoting sustainable local development.
The "Y.S Awards - Yushow Cup" is a creative competition organized by the Yushow Foundation. Getac Holdings participates annually in event planning and judging, aiming to connect creative energy with industrial development and translate inspiration into actionable projects. Since 2003, we have collaborated with affiliated enterprises to promote the Yushow Award Creative Competition, making it a crucial avenue for encouraging young people's development.
Over the past two decades, the Yushow Award has nurtured over 30,000 young students, providing a platform to showcase creativity and implement ideas. Aligned with Taiwan's digital technology and design education, the competition focuses on cultivating international digital content and design talent, empowering young generations to innovate within Taiwan's industries.
The 21st Yushow Cup, themed "Future Technology, Earth Solutions," emphasizes innovation and environmental sustainability. This year's competition places greater emphasis on eco-friendliness by using reusable exhibition stands and minimizing disposable waste, in alignment with ESG principles of environmental sustainability. Additionally, adopting a semi-open judging format allows participating teams to observe and learn from each other, enhancing communication and interaction.
The competition received over 680 submissions this year, rigorously evaluated by judges, with 47 teams ultimately advancing to the finals. Three teams were awarded first place, demonstrating deep exploration in their respective fields and a strong understanding of user needs, earning high praise from the judges.
The Yushow Cup Creative Awards provide a platform for young students to showcase their talents, using technological innovation to drive industrial development. It explores how technology can empower the next generation, injects new ideas into businesses, and fosters a new paradigm of sustainable development, aiming to create an ecologically harmonious and mutually beneficial society.
